Before your appointment: It’s a good idea to consider the rooms that need furniture and to make list of items you hope to receive. Take some measurements, and pay particular attention to the placement of doorways, elevator, heaters, and windows, as these will impact the size and shape of the furniture that fits your home.
Ensure you have keys, access to your unit, and can pay the delivery fee before attending your selection appointment. The delivery fee must be paid the same day as your appointment.
Furniture Bank does not have interpreters on site, and staff can only offer assistance in English. Clients that cannot speak English should consult their social service worker about providing an interpreter/translator to accompany them during the appointment.
After your appointment: If you have an elevator in your building, check with your building manager about booking a move-in time. When moving furniture, it’s often necessary to book the elevator in advance.
