It is difficult to measure the “success” of Furniture Bank’s endeavours in plain numbers. For every client we serve, an empty apartment becomes a home and reusable furniture is diverted from landfill. We are very proud of our contribution to Toronto’s efforts to combat homelessness and to help new and struggling Canadians to live in a furnished home.
An important barometer in measuring the success of our mission is the number of new households that we help establish each year.
In 2010, Furniture Bank provided home furnishings to 2,527 households comprised of more than 5,000 individuals.
In 2011, Furniture Bank expects to serve over 2,700 families.
