Looking ahead to 2011, Furniture Bank will focus its efforts on fundraising events and the pick-up and delivery business, with the goal of increasing its financial resources for the capital expenditures that are expected in the coming years.

Furniture Bank’s success comes from many individuals and organizations who have responded to our call to action over the last two years, providing valuable, much-needed support.

To hold a fundraising event in support of Furniture Bank, please contact Linda Sicoli at 416-934-1229 ext. 716 with your amazing event ideas and for Furniture Bank support!

Furniture-Bank-Chair-AffairChair Affair 2011

Furniture Bank's 2nd Annual Chair Affair held September 21, 2011 was another outstanding success!  This fundraising event again showcased the designs of local artists donating their talents and their time to create an extraordinary work of art with ordinary chairs from our warehouse. With over 400 tickets out to attendees and the designs of 30 artists on auction with award winning auctioneer Barbara Richards, everyone enjoyed an evening of fun, raising $93,000 for our charity!

Enormous thanks goes out to our Title Sponsor, Streetcar Developments, our media sponsor, Global Toronto with our host, Susan Hay for their efforts in supporting this event.  It was the excellent work of Feast Your Eyes Catering, The Steam Whistle Brewery, Pandor Productions and entertainer, Chris Smith that contributed to the creation of a thoroughly enjoyable evening.  We are also grateful for the 40+ volunteers who attended to work at the event night to help us to run the event smoothly.

For the full list of our sponsors, attending artists and their gorgeous chairs (event pictures are on their way!), you can visit http://www.furniturebank.org/chairaffair/.

To join us next year as an attendee, a sponsor, as an attending artist or a volunteer please contact us now.
