It was great to speak with Anbu and learn about his experience with Furniture Bank and how his life has changed and developed along the way. Anbu came here in May 2009 as a client through Seaton House and is now one of our volunteers, working here three days per week in our business office and in client services as he seeks a full time opportunity as a chartered accountant. He smiles happily as he describes his downtown bachelor apartment that he has beautifully furnished completely from Furniture Bank.·
On the occasions that he works with clients, Anbu says he is delighted to see the look of surprise and gratitude when they find out that they can have whatever they need to create a home and begin a new life for themselves. He is thrilled that he gets to help out in the business office, working on accounting projects that keep his skills fresh. Anbu’s warmth and good nature are contagious and his presence here is a gift to everyone.
