Receiving from and giving back
It’s not unusual for former Furniture Bank clients to return to our organization as a volunteer or even a staff member. Anbu is one such individual, coming to Furniture Bank via Seaton House several years ago and eventually returning in a volunteer capacity. Anbu helped out in our business office, giving back as a show of gratitude while gaining valuable work experience in his path to becoming a chartered accountant.
Having fully furnished his downtown apartment with selections from Furniture Bank, Anbu related to the feeling of relief and gratitude that new clients showed when they first came to us. He parlayed this understanding with a warm nature and winning smile that clearly indicated how much our organization had touched his life.
Anbu is a great example of an individual that Furniture Bank has benefited far beyond the home furnishings themselves.
