| Major GiftsFoundations, Corporations, & Private Individuals
Our main supporters include the City of Toronto, foundations, corporations, and private individuals. These relationships take on many different forms of financial support including program funding, building and capital funding, equipment funds and operational funding. If it were not for the support of these major donors, the work that we do would not be possible. Thanks to the generosity of many through the collection and distribution of· furniture and household goods, Furniture Bank has grown to impact the community in many important ways over the past 13 years. Helping Families Helping families in need to establish a furnished home by escaping homelessness, abuse, or unsuitable living conditions has always been the mission of Furniture Bank.
Job-Skills Development In additional to assisting in their housing, we have for a number of years provided on the job training along with a limited number of paid skills development programs (under the auspices of the Furniture Link Program) providing opportunities for skills development and the potential to obtain employment in logistics, furniture repair/woodworking, call centre operations and warehousing.
Environmentally Friendly By reducing, reusing, and recycling, Furniture Bank diverts thousands of tonnes of waste from local landfills and saves the community the cost of disposal.
