The Artisan Charity Chair Event by Humber College Bachelor of Applied Arts Interior Design Program graduating students

The graduating students of Humber College’s Bachelor of Applied Arts Interior Design program are required in their final semester to complete a service learning credit. Service learning combined with 'learning by doing' is the framework for the BINT program developed by Interior Design co-ordinator Kelly Gluck. Students had to seek out an opportunity to work on a project of social merit. This year the course was under the facilitation and direction of Vanessa Vilic Evangelista. Vanessa worked with the students to help develop unique approaches for the requirement and in addition looked for many opportunities to promote design at Humber.
Three of Humber’s graduating students; Aimee Chisholm, Laura McLellan and Tatiana Soldatova, felt strongly about helping WoodGreen Community Services and Furniture Bank.
The three grads, Aimee, Laura, Tatiana with the help of Vanessa organized the event "The Artisan Charity Chair Event' - "Artists and designers from Toronto came together, built and bought a re-purposed chair which had a little personal flare added to it.”
Chairs were completed by faculty and students in interior design, industrial design, and in interior decorating. All chairs were auctioned off.
The event raised $880 with all proceeds going directly to WoodGreen Community Services and Furniture Bank.

The Distillery; Carolyn Jeffs for all your support and use of the Distillery outdoor grounds. The beautiful outdoor space was ideal in the great weather!
