Visiting Furniture Bank of Ottawa

A Warm Welcome

On a recent vacation, our Executive Director took the opportunity to visit our sister Furniture Bank in Ottawa (FBO).

Dan met with FBO Executive Director Allan Ressor-McDowell and Program Director David Botha.

Located in Kanata, Furniture Bank of Ottawa is run out of Matthew House – an organization originally founded to help refugee claimants in Ottawa – and supports families across the Ottawa region.

The organization is also an early member of the Furniture Bank Network, a North American network of furniture banks supported by Furniture Link.

It was great to see that bed frames and bedding are part of their model, something we struggle to do at scale here in Toronto without more volunteers.
