What is the Build-a-Thon?

The Build-a-Thon is a philanthropic team-building activity that can be done indoors or outdoors – at your office building, a conference room or a suitable location of your choice.

Together, you and your team will have the chance to:

  • Build furniture for people in need
  • Bond as a group
  • Have fun and be creative

 

How The Build-a-Thon Works

Your group will be split into teams and, during a timed event, compete to build flat-packed furniture. During the build, your team will be given challenges and obstacles to increase the fun and team-work. A panel of judges then put the furniture to the test to ensure alignment, stability, rigidity, reliability, and sturdiness and choose the winning team. At the end of the event, all the furniture is taken to Furniture Bank and given to a family or individual in need.

Group size: 10-100

Time Needed: 2-3 hours

Cost: $150 per person
