Donated furniture doesn’t always arrive on schedule, but families need beds in October and microwaves in February. SecondShop is the Toronto reseller that helps Furniture Bank bridge that gap.

Some partners donate once a year. Ecofurnish donates nearly every week — 14 donations of mattresses, bed frames and bedroom essentials since October 2025, on one simple belief: every family deserves a real place to sleep.

Most companies donating to Furniture Bank are clearing out offices. Quagga Designs makes the furniture themselves — and since June 2022 has given over $136,000 of brand-new, Canadian-made pieces to families emerging from crisis.

Some partnerships are built on big annual gestures. Since December 2023, Auction Maxx has built theirs on consistency — 13 in-kind donations of furniture, bedding and household essentials, month after month.

Most donated furniture has had a good life in someone else’s home first. Cozey does something different — since August 2021 they’ve given brand-new sofas, armchairs and ottomans straight to families emerging from crisis.
