About Furniture Bank

We change lives by providing furniture and housewares to people experiencing poverty or displacement.

Our clients include women and children leaving shelters, the formerly homeless, and newcomers and refugees to Canada.

Revenues generated through our furniture removal service, which is run as a social enterprise, funds our charitable activities as we work to end furniture poverty – one sofa and one family at a time.

How it WORKS

Generous clients hire our team to come and pick up their gently used furniture (distanced pickup available!).

Families in need are referred to us and work with our volunteers to choose their next home furnishings.

You feel great for making a difference in a family’s life, helping the environment and giving your furniture a second chance. You will also receive a tax receipt for your donation.

    We arranged to donate our mattress that we had purchased at Goodmorning.com but decided to exchange before the trial period was completed, so this was a three-way arrangement. Communication was excellent. The gentlemen who completed the pick up arrived within the allotted time frame and, in good covid style, waved and communicated from a distance. We received acknowledgement of the pick up (allowing us to process our refund with Goodmorning) and our tax receipt promptly. Excellent experience. We loved to know that good furniture is going to good use. Thank you for everything you do, Furniture Bank!

    Investing in the Furniture Bank service was well worth the $150. Less headache for me (selling furniture is such a pain) and I got tax receipt. The guys showed up on time and were very professional and courteous. The best part is the furniture didn't end up in the landfill and a family is able to enjoy it. Everybody wins!

    My experience with the furniture bank was fantastic. The team was wonderful, helping unload my car, giving me a tour of the facility and explaining the business operations to me. I highly recommend. Such a great way to give back to the community and re-use furniture that you don't need anymore.

    Very courteous and responsive, and on time...in fact a bit early. I contacted them to take away a bed and some dining chairs...they charge a small fee (in my opinion) that is completely offset by a charitable donation receipt. Will use them again no doubt!

    Amazing Service! I just wanted to let you know that the two gentlemen that came to pick up my furniture were absolutely fabulous! They were courteous, extremely careful and efficient and I really cannot say enough good things about them. Thank you again for my furniture pick up and for sending two extremely great guys.

    I take clients here regularly. The staff and volunteers are very kind, and everything is old but good quality, a lot of the furniture is quite beautiful if you enjoy the older styles. They care here.

    Great Team Work at Furniture Bank! Your colleagues have been absolutely amazing throughout the process. Stella did a great job of coordinating everything and was extremely pleasant and efficient. Bill and his colleague William who did the move were also very pleasant and knowledgeable. Good Job guys!!!

    Reliable Moving Team! Great service. I received a call two business days before my pick up to inform me of the time-frame during which the team would arrive. On the day of pick-up I received a call 20 minutes in advance to alert me the team was on the way. The movers were careful as they worked, and were pleasant and very courteous. It was an extremely positive experience.
