In their Words …

It all began early last year in 2013 when we read about Furniture Bank in the Etobicoke Guardian. We were very moved by what we had read that we decided to call up and volunteer.

Peter and myself feel very blessed to have been given this opportunity to give back to the community. It gives us great joy to be able to see the smiles on the faces of the clients we serve. This opportunity has been both an exciting and rewarding experience for which we are grateful.

Furniture Bank has been like a second home to us. There has never been a dull moment during our time working as volunteers. It is inspiring to see the good work that Furniture Bank does for the community and it has been a pleasure to be part of this happy family i.e. Furniture Bank.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank The Furniture Bank family and in particular Joe Di Paolo for giving us this wonderful opportunity to help make a positive contribution to the community.

At Furniture Bank not very much is expected of us except a little time, gentleness, tenderness and love.

Iris & Peter Johannes
